1. FEE SCHEDULE
All Footlights programs are comprised of Custom 4 color cover, up to 16 pages on client program copy and include a Current Shows Listing within the editorial section. The listings serve as a guide to what is currently playing through the end of a calendar month. The listings include; show name, venue, open and closing dates and contact phone information. Additionally, a graphic representing each show will also appear with the listings, where space permits. Web listings are also provided at no additional charge. Web listing will include graphic, listing and contact information, links to your sites, and cast listing.
Standard orders (Shipping and delivery charges not included)
- 1000 programs – 4, 8, 12 or 16 pages of content with 4-color cover – $400
- Additional programs may be ordered in increments of 500 programs at $200 per 500 programs
- 500 copies for 4 or 8 page programs ONLY – $300
Custom orders
- Pricing will be quoted on orders in excess of 3000 programs
- Programs with more than 16 pages or with 4-color content will be custom quoted

As the cost of production is in the set up, please order the total number of programs you think you will need to reduce any possible extra charges. Order amounts may be adjusted up to 10 days prior to delivery date. Thereafter, there is an additional fee to change your order. Fee varies and will be based on where we are in the printing process.
If an initial order is LESS than 50% of House Capacity for the run of your show and programs are reodered,
A replate charge of $50 will be applied to the reorder. Minimum orders are in effect for all reorders.
2. ADDITIONAL CHARGES
- Proofs – $15.00
- File conversion: $25 – creating PDF from any other file format – sequencing, or eliminating blank pages)
- Minimal layout: $50 – Importing MS Word document (see mechanical reqs.) and adding pre-sized head-shots
- Layout charges: $165 Flat fee – creating a program from file sources (including any corrections to your files). 2 rounds of changes. Additional rounds of changes will be charged at the hourly rate of $65.
Rush/Late Charges –All files submitted must meet the standards outlined in our mechanical requirements. Should these standards not be met, we will request a new file submission or at your discretion, we can adjust the files to meet out needs. Standard art fees will be applied.
- Final files approved less than ten days before, but at least seven days prior to delivery requirement- add 25%
- Files approved less than seven days, but at least five days prior to delivery requirement – add 50%
- Files approved less than five days, but at least three days prior to delivery requirement – add 100%
- Any files submitted and approved less than three days prior to delivery requirement will be processed on space availability basis – add 200%
Footlights is not responsible for any error on copy submitted to us for printing. The only responsibility Footlights bears is in printing files as approved. All files submitted without request for proof will be deemed to be pre-approved and ready to print.
3. MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS/SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR PROGRAMS
PDF – PDF/X-1a- Completed ads, covers and program content provided to us electronically should be sent in PDF format. When submitting files in pdf format, please send cover art and program content separately. Do not send blank pages. Do not force page numbers within acrobat. Please note the page order only, not placement. If files are not clearly noted by sequence, Footlights is not responsible for page order. Embed all fonts.
- If Adobe InDesign is used, please export your InDesign file using PDF/X-1, a PDF preset.
- If QuarkXpress is used to create an ad, use Acrobat Distiller to generate a PDF file, using “High Quality Print” to distill the Postscript file.
- File settings from Quark & other page layout programs should be: 2400 dpi & 200 line screen.
3. MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS/SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR AD COPY
Adobe Photoshop: Flattened 300 dpi CMYK TIFF • Flattened & minimally compressed 300 dpi CMYK JPEG.
Do not up-sample files from low resolution images. Dithering will only be more apparent.
TIFF or JPEG files are acceptable, but not recommended.
- Save TIFFs with Macintosh encoding. Must be flattened and final, no layers. Hi-Res binary data, no compression.
- Save JPEGs as baseline standard and quality: 10.
- Create all files at 300dpi for the best quality.
- Convert all Photoshop files to CMYK and TIFF or JPEG before sending.
Adobe Illustrator: Please convert all fonts to outlines and save as an EPS or PDF. Do not use PDF Writer to create a PDF, as the file will not be usable for printing.
OPI Settings – It is very important to make sure that the PDF does not contain any OPI information. A file with OPI information might look fine on screen, but types might get dropped out at the press. Using the specified job options will automatically remove all the OPI information from the PDF.
Fonts – All fonts must be embedded. Use Postscript or Open Face fonts only. No TrueType fonts.
Color Specs Guidelines – All color ads must be sent as CMYK color. NO RGB files!
Send B&W photos as grayscale, adjusting contrast and brightness appropriately.
We cannot be held responsible for color shifts on incorrectly created files.
Full Page Bleed Ads: Please make sure to include the bleed when creating the PDF. It is not necessary to provide crop marks, color bars, registration or any other information that you do not want to appear in print.
Black reverses (black page with white text) (20% additional cost). Should be 100% K. Note: Reversed text will have decreased readability, and will fill in if the black is too saturated.
Black text should be 100% K. Do not use rich black for text as you will experience registration problems and obscured text. Rich Black Reverses and Rich Black Text will be treated as 4-color process and billed as such.
No Spot colors. No Pantone Colors. Be aware that Pantone colors are converted to CMYK and may not reproduce as expected.
Naming: Please name your files with the show/project, what it is and the date … (i.e., “show_company_coverart_041509.pdf” or “show_company_adart_041509.pdf”). This way, if you are resending us artwork or program content, so we can tell which is the current version. Please name the attached art file with YOUR COMPANY NAME, not “Footlights” or “Ad.” This is important!!! (i.e., “companyname_coverart.pdf” or “companyname_adart.pdf”) ***these are conflicting file name formats***

- If your file is less than 15 megabytes, e-mail it to us directly at: artdpt@gofootlights.com
- If you would like to submit files via FTP, we recommend http://www.yousendit.com/ . This is a free reliable service (for files under 100 MB), and requires no membership.
4. DEADLINES & Specs – Deadlines are firm, and if not met will result in late delivery and/or late charges.
All PROGRAM CONTENT files must be submitted in FINAL APPROVED FORMAT, no later than the MONDAY of the week PRIOR to the Thursday pickup (about 11 days.). All programs are ready to pickup or ship on Thursday. If you have a delivery requirement earlier than Thursday, use deadline schedules for the prior Thursday. If proofs are required, please allow an additional two days. If Footlights is doing the typesetting, please submit all material for the program at least 15 days prior to delivery to assure sufficient time for layout and proofing. Your page content MUST be in multiples of 4 to layout properly.
AD CYCLES are monthly. Ad deadline is ALWAYS the 15th of the month prior to the month of insertion.
ONLY Paid ADS are guaranteed insertion. Acceptance of art materials for all other advertising does not imply assurance of insertion.
If provided a complimentary ad, ad will be sized and placed at discretion of the publisher.

Ad Art – All ad placement is subject to space availability, art submission timeliness, account status and approval of the publisher. Acceptance of art materials for complimentary advertising does not imply assurance of nor guarantee insertion. All complimentary ads to be sized and placed at discretion of the publisher.

Be aware that we will place a border on ads without visible edges.
Cover art – 5” wide x 6.75” high – The image that appears on the front cover of the program must be submitted no later than the 15th of the month prior to need.
Program content – 4/8/12 or 16 pages of Black & White/Grayscale
If you are unable to create PDFs, please lay out your programs as a Microsoft Word Document. DO NOT APPLY SPECIAL CHARACTERS. DO NOT FORMAT OR USE TABBING TO ADD EXTRA SPACE YOUR PROGRAM. DO NOT INSERT IMAGE FILES. Use italicized font and parenthesis to indicate if you would like special justification. All instructions should be within the document appropriately placed. For example (center this line,) All art files and photos, should be sent separately and labeled appropriately. Standard File conversion charges will apply.
Client guarantees that any elements of text, graphics, photos, designs, and images or other artwork furnished to FootLights, Inc. for inclusion in the program are owned by the client, or client is otherwise authorized to utilize the same as part of the program. Client agrees to defend, indemnify and hold FootLights, Inc. free and harmless with respect to any alleged infringement by FootLights, Inc. arising out of the use or inclusion of any such Client-provided elements by FootLights, Inc. as part of the Program. The Footlights, Inc. logo, Footlights Logo and GoFootlights are owned and copyrighted, and the use of the logo on the cover of the program in conjunction with the production artwork constitutes an original artwork, for purposes of copyright and are wholly owned by Footlights, Inc.. No use of the FootLights logo may be used without the express written release by FootLights, Inc.
5. PAYMENT & DELIVERY – Via Cash, Check or Credit Card.
Programs: Payment is due in full at time of initial order or prior to pick up or delivery, unless special arrangements are made in advance. Standard terms of delivery are FOB (freight out bound). All orders require a credit card on file, which will be charged for full order, unless prior arrangements are made, or should arrangements made, not be fulfilled. Credit Cards will incur a 3% service charge.
