RAVES

Critics Raves.

Critics are not the final determiner regarding theatre. That’s something for you the audience to decide. However, when more than two reviewers think a show is worth seeing, they might just be right.

All of the shows listed below have received “must see’s” from at least three professional reviewers.

So rather than take a guess, here’s a good place to start your research:

SWEET
Boys will be boys and men will be men, though the distinction between the two is more likely one of personal income rather than emotional maturity. Or so it is with the three middle-aged children (Dennis Delsing, Jon Amirkhan and Gregg Christie) who explore their frayed adult bonds in this engaging revival of playwright Lee Wochner’s poignant 1996 comedy.

SWEET
Unlike Uhry’s dull-as-dishwater “Driving Miss Daisy,” I found “Parade” consistently compelling, but a little too entertaining in an unsettling way at times; though he seems to be criticizing the proud Southerners responsible for this tragedy—which resulted in the Anti-Defamation League and the resurgence of the KKK—Uhry is a little too subtle in his condemnation for my tastes.
